Configure DHCP on a Windows DHCP Server

Configure DHCP on a Router is much easier, due to the fact that you will have to configure some steps more on the windows machine.

First we create a default scope with no scope options yet.

Right click on the server and then choose : Define Vendor Classes
Let’s add one and give it an ascii value of : Cisco AP c1250 (For Cisco 1250 AP’s.)

Right click on the server and then choose : Predefine Options and Values
Select Option Class which you create at the step above.
Click add.
Create a name like Controller Mgmt IP Address.
Datatype is IP. Check Array for multiple addresses.
The code should be…. 241

Now go to the scope options and configure them.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Choose the Vendor Class you created.
Check the 241 code and put the IP Addresses of the WLC’s at the array.

You can verify the scope by enableing it.
